WOMEN'S MINISTRY

1 Corinthians 16:13-14 NIV. “Be on your guard, stand firm in faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.”

Get to know the Women's Ministry

The purpose of the Women’s Ministry is to serve the Lord by creating an opportunity for women to meet in a God-focused fellowship, to share love and faith In Jesus Christ, and to provide encouragement and support for women in our church family and surrounding community.

The Women’s Ministry hosts events throughout the year. We have dinner outings, guest speakers, and other events.

Secret Sister

The secret Sisters Program offers all woman opportunities for fellowship and friendship through a few social times during the year.

The special focus of the program is that each woman in the group who wishes to participate pulls the name of another woman in the group who will be her "Secret Sister" for a year.  Our sisters are remembered with prayers, cards or notes of celebration, concern, encouragement, etc. and small gifts.

The day when our "sisters" are revealed is an especially fun filled day with laughter and surprises.  It is a good feeling to know your "sister" is thinking of you and likewise, you are remembering your "sister" in quiet, loving and secretive ways in order for her to feel special and valued.

The Secret Sister Program has been a wonderful caring outreach of blessings for many years.

Leaders:  Shelley Heinlein & Denise Rollinitis

UPCOMING MEETINGS & EVENTS

Next Meeting - Monday, February 23rd | 6:30 pm  | Parlor

IF Gathering 2021 Is Going Digital - March 5th & 6th
Digital Details

Guest Speaker: Cameron (Dowiak) Metz
Ladies Breakfast - Saturday, March 13th | 9:00 am till 12:00 pm | Covenant Center  Email Merri Clark at clarkwwmd@msn.com to register.
Cameron (Dowiak) Metz, daughter of Joe and Patty Dowiak, currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA with her husband Chris Metz. She grew up in Burgettstown with her sister Carly, and she was involved with Hickory's youth group and coaching Upward Basketball until 2015 when she went to college. She obtained her Bachelors in Biochemistry from Marietta College in 2019, and currently attends Pittsburgh School of Medicine, hopefully graduating in 2024 with her MD. She intends to continue her training through a Family Medicine residency, and open a practice in an underserved area. She is delighted to be a local again.

She will be talking about witnessing God's transforming power when she volunteered with Bridge Outreach last fall. This organization serves the Pittsburgh homeless population through street medicine, coordinating resources, and building relationships. Should I give a homeless person money? Did they put themselves in that situation? Can I trust what they say? What does it mean to love the poor, orphan, and widowed in the 21st century? What's street medicine? What is being done and what can I do? She'll answer these questions and more during the Women's Breakfast on March 13th, 9am at Covenant Center."
