Get to know the Women's Ministry
The purpose of the Women’s Ministry is to serve the Lord by creating an opportunity for women to meet in a God-focused fellowship, to share love and faith In Jesus Christ, and to provide encouragement and support for women in our church family and surrounding community.
The Women’s Ministry hosts events throughout the year. We have dinner outings, guest speakers, and other events.
The secret Sisters Program offers all woman opportunities for fellowship and friendship through a few social times during the year.
The special focus of the program is that each woman in the group who wishes to participate pulls the name of another woman in the group who will be her "Secret Sister" for a year. Our sisters are remembered with prayers, cards or notes of celebration, concern, encouragement, etc. and small gifts.
The day when our "sisters" are revealed is an especially fun filled day with laughter and surprises. It is a good feeling to know your "sister" is thinking of you and likewise, you are remembering your "sister" in quiet, loving and secretive ways in order for her to feel special and valued.
The Secret Sister Program has been a wonderful caring outreach of blessings for many years.
Leaders: Joanne McCracken
Please Note: New leadership for the 2019-2020 Secret Sister Program is needed if it is to continue. Please prayerfully consider taking on this ministry.
Secret Sister Group
Your are invited to join us for an event on Saturday, June 1st at 11:30am in Fellowship Hall. There will be no more guessing or asking, "Who is the sister who has been sending those pretty cards and remembering me in kind ways over the past several months?" On this day, we will reveal who our Secret Sister has been and surprise her with a small gift.
If you have not had a secret sister this year, we hope you will come and be with the whole group for another time of friendship. We are all Christian sisters and it is a joy to be together. Please feel free to bring a friend to add to our gathering.
There will be a sign-up sheet in the Greeting Area in May.
The Women’s Ministry would like to know how we can better service the women of Hickory UEP Church and the community. We also are open to what you want to see happen with this Ministry. Please contact Shelley or Tracey with any suggestions, thoughts or ideas.
