Last fall we began Kingdom Kids which ran until early this year. We started with several weeks of scripture study, scripture memory and various rhythmic and music related fun activities, which then morphed into preparation for last year’s Christmas musical and, this years, preparation for our Palm Sunday celebration.
Worship and Music Director, Phil Chandler wrote the curriculum, based mostly on Psalms and the following precepts: The God of the Bible is the Lord, The Bible is our Lord’s Word, and Our Lord tells us in the Bible When, Where, Why, Who and How to WORSHIP.
When: All the time, especially once a week with other believers.
Where: Everywhere, especially once a week with other believers.
Why: Because God is our Creator, Sustainer, Redeemer and Friend.
Who: The God of the Bible. How: Guided by His Work, in spirit and in truth, with all manner of instruments and practices, which if we do it right, will be from our hearts.
We used body percussion, percussion instruments, rhythmic chanting of scripture stories, coaching on public speaking and other physical activities to give the children an engaging and immersive experience. Our prayer is the our Lord the King will be honored and delighted in these children as they live Spirit and Word directed lives before him.
This class will resume after summer break.
